Spitzbergen

One of the most beautiful polar lands : Svalbard is an archipelago half way between the North Cape and the North Pole, the largest island is Spitzbergen.It makes up part of the most northerly lands with an exceptionally mild climate for this latitude.

With Svalbard the nature is surprising : whales, polar bears, seals, walrus and reindeer and some dumbfounded nesting birds. Summer is generous underneath the rays of the midnight sun, the coasts are bursting into life during the 4 months of June, July, August and September. During this period the numerous glaciers scatter the bays like strange silhouettes.
